back more archived news 11/08/2001: There are quite a few articles out there that are erroneously claiming we are "remaking" an already known game. We have sent a few requests via email but the site owners have ignored our requests and those articles still remain. One such article is on Wired.com. They edited it a little but not enough to let readers know that our game is not a sequel or remake but in fact an original "classic style" game. OK well on to development news: The current game now has varied height buildings , objects and the wilderness is now complete. Some of you may be happy to know that this game will run on both Windows and Linux. Justin will be away on business but should be back on the 18th with a new release and Jon has completed the caverns maps. Bernard's has been cranking out the artwork and I've managed to get a few new ones in myself. We'll see how our next release looks to determine if it will be beta. We were planning on releasing a demo disk to be distributed with a major gaming magazine but because of some legal issues we'll be holding off until our legal rep can squarea couple of things away. Rob 10/25/2001: We have another new artist onboard! I'd like to introduce to you Bernard Kang. Bernard will be sharing the in game 2D art responsibilities. Here is a completed piece by Bernard.
Rob 10/23/2001: There seems to be much confusion about our game and just by doing a search on the web it becomes evident. We are in no way, shape or form trying to make a 4th installment to the Bard's Tale nor are we in anyway affiliated with Electronic Arts or Interplay. I have seen sites post our link and incorrectly call our game The Bard's Tale Legacy, Bard's Tale 4, and a Bard's Tale remake. The Bard's Legacy is an entirely original game. Storyline, most races and classes, spells, weapons, items, characters, monsters, music, artwork and graphics are unique to the Bard's Legacy. Our game is an old meets new style game. A game that plays like a classic first person perspective turn based game with modern graphics, effects and audio. The only similarities to our game is the fact that we have the word "Bard" in our title and we do have a Bard class. Many games have a bard class and many classic crpg's have the same interface layout (view window in the top left corner, character stats below etc etc). I ask anyone out there that has a link to us or info about us to correct their pages and make it clear to whoever is reading that we are not developing a remake or a 4th installment. We are creating a brand new "classic style" crpg with modern looks and sounds. Rob more archived news |
