10/20/2001:
Hi! So, for my first update ever, I've got a quick rundown of some of the recent features completed. Before I go through that, though, I'd like to say that we are getting very close to being done, and are getting more excited every day that goes by!

Recently, we've been working on completing the spells, implementing effects ranging from Healing to Summoning to Elemental Protection. We've also been cracking hard on getting the Use Item facility working, which will allow us to apply almost any action to an item, creating a wide variety of magical items in the game. We're close to having every building in town finished, and are cleaning up our interface and graphics engine. We can now support variable-height walls, we have clouds in place (animated, and variable with the weather!), day/night patterns, fog, and rain. It's looking really great! Keep up the faith - we'll have the game out as soon as we can, but we want it to be quality when we do. There's no point in doing a game for the fans if it isn't one the fans can enjoy ;-)

Almost a month since our last official web update... but we ARE busy. Would you rather us spend all of our time updating the site with fluff or would you rather us work on the game? Well WE are working on the game and some big things are happening boys and girls. Justin will be coming at you with some of the new monster and PC game functions and features. NO.. Not Justin Timberlake; Justin Binns our lead programmer. Check out the races section. We enhanced the descriptions so you know more about how OUR vision checks out. -Jon

It's been a tough week but we've managed to get some stuff done on the game. The wilderness has now been implemented, some plot events and more art have been added and commands like "play bard song", "rest" and "time of day" have been added.
I can now say with confidence that a demo will be ready soon. - Rob

Damn! The new forums seem to be working fine except the resistration process is still a little buggy.
I've replaced the link for the forums with the old forums.
Please continue to use the old forums for now.
I've changed the link on the forums button to direct you there. - Rob

Update time!
I gave the site a much needed new facelift and added a page called goods.
In the near future you can purchase Bard's Legacy shirts, mugs, mousepads and other junk here.
New artwork and screenshots of the latest release added too.

Now for the interesting stuff!
Justin is implementing storyline now. He needs to squish a few bugs first but another alpha release will be soon.
I believe the newest release will be tonight or sometime this weekend.
I'll give it a spin and tell you about the newest features.

Hey all! Long time no update.
Well never fear. That usually means we're working on overdrive to get this game done.
We've been really busy with the game so there has been little time for an update.

So far we have some nice interface add-ons like location title bars and stuff.
We are working on implementing spell icons for compass, torch/light, magic shield and maybe a levitation. More storyline, spells and items are in the works now.
Currently the temple, store, mage guild, adventurer hall and all the levels are pretty much fully functional. We do need to add major bosses and characters. Right now there are lot's of monsters wandering around waiting to kill your party.

Jon has been revamping the audio and environmental sound quite a bit and they're sounding really good. The songs have been removed from the audio page but there will be a few back up soon.

I'm going to replace all the screenshots with newer ones but as much as I'd love to, I am going to have to keep the screenshots and artwork images very limited.
I wouldn't want to spoil it for everyone. This is also the reason Jon is only going to be putting up only a few songs.

Well I'll let this much leak out.
We will be implementing a wilderness and a few places outside of the town of Rennibister. Adding the wilderness will be the final stage in development. Since all the basics are done, the implementation of this expansion will be very easy to add on.
Oh and expect a site layout change soon and a new forum.

There will be more screenshots and updates this week.

Well we've made some great progress lately. We have the cellars, catacombs and mage tower levels finished, music and environmental sounds almost completed and we have combat and spells running nicely.
I have put up a few new screenshots.
The game is playable now but not quite ready for beta release yet.

Looks like word about our project has been spreading all over the net and in some magazines. Here's a couple of articles and mentions about the Bard's Legacy.

Never fear all. We are still working hard on the Devil Whiskey. We may not be able to update the page every week but thats because we are occupied with development.
It will be a cold day in hell before we hang this project up especially since we are so close to completion.
We have added new levels and more textures and artwork to the game.
I'll be posting some new visuals soon.

4/22/01:
I've changed the art gallery and put some new artwork up. Long time visitors may will see some reworks of some old characters here.

4/08/01:
We now have some solid combat and random encounters implemented!
I have added a few screen screenshots of a battle with a band of orcs.
Each week we release a new version of the game and lately with every release there have been some major breakthroughs.
It's only a matter of time before we complete it.
I'm sparked! This game is looking good!

We have some new artwork done too but we are going to be a bit shy about putting all of it up in the gallery as we want to save some suprises for the release.
